Music is accounted as a basic feature of the human life; hard of hearing people (HoHP), however, are excluded by its access and appreciation. The purpose of the current project, namely aesthesis, is the implementation of a multimodal intelligent embedded system through which HoHP will acquire the ability to access the world of music. Aesthesis is structured upon efficient coding of the aesthetic information of the music stimuli and its transmission to the HoHP via flexible interfacing, i.e., tactile/vibration stimuli along with visual displays. The endeavor of aesthesis aims at the social inclusion of HoHP using cut technology to appoint music as the roadmap of their communication and socialization.
